About Me

Welcome!

Welcome to Adventures with Haley.  Adventures with Haley is designed to share my experiences from one of the classes I am taking, environmental health. As you read and follow my blog, you will learn many different aspects about environmental health and how every decision we make has an impact on the world in which we live.

Adventures With Who?

My name is Haley Irwin, I am a senior at the University of Minnesota Duluth, studying in community health. First, I think it is important that you know that I am Canadian…EH! If you’re reading my blog and come across things like Igloo’s, chesterfields, and dogsleds, well now you know why. Ok yes I am Canadian but I highly doubt that the few Canadian slang words we have will be a major part of my blog.

I was born and raised in Canada but I am in the States to play hockey, here at UMD. I think in Canada we come out of the womb wearing hockey skates. It’s what we’re born to play; it’s in our blood. My blood is definitely filled with the desire to play hockey and in 2010 my childhood dreams of making it big in the female world of hockey came true. I am a 2010 Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist. Winning a gold medal for my country, on home soil is a memory I will never forget.

Why?

My hope is that this blog is adventurous, fun, and educational. It should be easy to follow while learning some interesting facts about environmental health. For those that have been to college or are in college, I promise this won’t be another boring lecture.
